What Nature Gives Without Asking

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.

Sunrise No. 120

You go out looking for one thing, a moment of quiet. Instead you find the light hitting the water at an angle you didn't expect. You notice how your shoulders drop. A bird calls. You weren't seeking these small deliveries, yet here they are, ordinary and complete. Nature doesn't negotiate. It offers what it offers. The gift is in the receiving, not the asking.

Question for today

What arrives when you stop planning what you need to find?

Practice

Walk to one familiar spot near water or trees and sit for three minutes without checking the time. Notice what appears you didn't come for.
