Empty Before Asking
The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach.
Wanting clouds the view. Wanting shapes the breath into a fist. Notice instead what happens when you stop rehearsing the day, stop measuring what you need from these hours. The beach knows this: it doesn't strain toward the tide. It receives what comes. Not passivity, but a particular kind of readiness, the way a cup holds water only because it stays still.
Question for today
What am I still trying to control that would soften if I simply waited?
Practice
Sit for two minutes without planning your next task. When you notice yourself building, gently return to feeling the chair beneath you.
