Solitude Reveals What We Are

Watching the moon at dawn, solitary, mid-sky, I knew myself completely, no part left out.

Aloneness is not emptiness. It is clarity. When you stand without distraction, without anyone's gaze to perform for, the scattered pieces of yourself settle like sediment in still water. You see what remains. Not the version you edit for others, not the self you hope to become, but the actual person standing here, breathing, present to this moment. Shikibu knew this at dawn, when the world is quiet enough to hear your own truth.

Question for today

What do you know about yourself when no one is watching?

Practice

Sit for one minute in silence, without your phone. Notice what arises in your chest without naming it as good or bad.
