Where You Stand Matters
Find your place on the planet. Dig in, and take responsibility from there.
Responsibility begins small, at your feet. Not as burden but as answer to the question: what am I willing to tend? The bay doesn't ask you to save it. It asks you to know one corner of it, one rhythm, one particular light. This knowing is the work. When you stop looking for elsewhere, you can actually see what's here, what needs noticing, what's already asking for your care.
Question for today
What small piece of ground, actual or metaphorical, is yours to know well?
Practice
Name one specific thing in your immediate surroundings that you'll pay attention to today. Not vaguely. Name it.
