Where Noticing Becomes Stillness

Attention is the beginning of devotion.

This morning, before the day asks anything of you, notice what's already here. Not the big views. The small thing: the weight of your hands, the quality of light on whatever surface is nearest. Attention isn't strain. It's the opposite. It's what happens when you stop rehearsing and simply meet what is. That meeting, that simple turning toward, that is where devotion starts. Not in grand gestures. In the pause before the day pulls you elsewhere.

Question for today

What small, ordinary thing deserves your full attention before you scroll?

Practice

Sit with one cup of coffee or tea for three minutes without reaching for your phone. Notice its temperature, smell, taste. That's all.
