Married to What Shows Up

When it's over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement.

Amazement is not rapture. It is the steady turning toward what is actually here. A bride shows up each morning to the same person, and in that showing up, discovers something new in the familiar face. The practice is not romance; it is attention. Not waiting for the extraordinary to arrive, but letting the ordinary break open under a clear gaze. This is the work: to meet today as it comes, without the weight of what you expected it to be.

Question for today

What ordinary thing might I meet this morning as if for the first time?

Practice

Before you check your phone, pause and name one sensation in your body. Temperature, texture, weight. One sentence only.
