What Moves, We Follow
The moon and sun are eternal travelers. Even the years wander on.
The sun rises whether you watch or not. The tide moves through its patient arithmetic. We are here for a brief span, living inside this long clock. The question is not how to hold still, but how to move with what moves. Basho knew: we are not separate from the wandering. We are the wandering, noticing itself. This morning, pay attention to what is already in motion around you, independent of your desire to control it.
Question for today
What in your life is moving forward without your permission, and can you trust it?
Practice
Sit for one minute and watch one thing change, without naming it or wishing it were different.
