Rest While the Work Happens
The seed is in the ground. Now may we rest in hope while darkness does its work.
We are not asked to see the germination. We plant, we water, we step back. The root breaks open in a darkness we will never witness. There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from trying to hurry what is already underway. This morning, notice what you have already set in motion. Your body knows how to heal while you sleep. Your mind sorts what matters while you are still. The work continues whether you supervise it or not.
Question for today
What have you planted that you can finally stop checking on?
Practice
Inhale for four counts, hold for seven, exhale for eight. Repeat four times before breakfast.
