Attention Before Action
Sweetheart, you are in pain. Relax. Take a breath. Let's pay attention to what is happening, then we'll figure out what to do.
Pain arrives and we reach for solutions. But Boorstein offers something older: the pause. Notice the tightness in your chest. Notice how your mind already sprints ahead. The breath doesn't fix anything yet. It simply steadies the ground beneath you so you can see clearly. This is the work before the work, the clarity that makes action possible instead of reactive.
Question for today
What small pain have you been trying to solve without first looking at it straight?
Practice
When something bothers you today, pause and name three specific sensations in your body before you decide what to do.
