The Temporary Made Permanent
This world of dew is only a world of dew, and yet, and yet.
Issa knew something about attention. He did not look away from the droplet because it was small or fleeting. He looked closer. The "and yet, and yet" is not resignation; it is the doubled breath of someone who has seen impermanence clearly and chooses to meet it anyway. This morning, your coffee will cool. Your thoughts will scatter. The light will change. These are not problems to solve but the very texture of a life worth paying attention to.
Question for today
What small, temporary thing is asking for your full attention right now?
Practice
Sit with one thing for three minutes, knowing it will change. A cup. A sound. A feeling in your hands. Do not try to hold it.
