Starting From What Is Already Here
The way out of our cage begins with accepting absolutely everything about ourselves and our lives.
Acceptance is not approval. It is the plain act of setting down the argument. This morning it might look like noticing the tightness in your jaw and not asking it to leave yet. Or reading the unanswered message without composing a defense. The cage holds because we keep pushing on the bars. Stop pushing for one breath, and you can see where the door has been.
Question for today
What part of this morning are you still arguing with?
Practice
Breathe in for four counts, hold for seven, and exhale for eight while silently naming one thing about yourself you have been resisting, then repeat twice.
