Calm Body, Smiling Breath
Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile.
The body knows things the mind has not yet noticed. When you breathe in with intention, you are not forcing calm; you are naming it, witnessing it already present in your chest and shoulders. The smile that follows is not optimism. It is recognition. Small, private, the faint muscular shift of someone who has stopped arguing with what is.
Question for today
What happens when you smile before you have a reason to?
Practice
Sit for one minute. Breathe in slowly through your nose; as you exhale, lift the corners of your mouth. Repeat five times.
